Jackson, Miss. - The Centenary men's basketball team hits the road this weekend as the Gents will play in the Millsaps College Tournament beginning with a non-conference contest against Piedmont University at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Hangar Dome.

Centenary (1-2) and Piedmont (2-2) will be joined by the host Millsaps Majors (0-2) and The University of the Ozarks (3-0) in the two-day event with Millsaps facing Ozarks at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday's schedule features a consolation game at 1 p.m. followed by the championship game at 3 p.m. Centenary and Piedmont will face each other for the first time on Saturday. Centenary is 14-9 all-time versus Millsaps in a series that dates back to 1921 and the Maroon and White are 2-3 all-time versus Ozarks but will play them for the first time since the 2016-17 season this weekend. 

The Gents are coming off of a 63-51 loss on Wednesday night at home to the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats, rallying from a 15-point halftime deficit to get within six points with under four minutes to play before falling short. Centenary opened the regular season with a dominating 101-64 home win over Arlington Baptist on Nov. 8 and then fell 95-76 at ETBU on Nov. 12 in Marshall, Texas.

Junior G Braeden Board (Rayne, La.) led the Gents with 14 points, junior G Chrys Jackson (North Las Vegas, Nev.) came off the bench and scored 12, and senior F Seth Thomas (Kilgore, Texas) added 11. Thomas, who was named the SCAC Player of he Week on Monday, is averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game and has reached double figures in three-consecutive games.

Senior G Jalen Behr (Athens, Ga.) played 18 minutes and scored five points with three rebounds and a blocked shot, senior G Tykeem Singleton (Fort Worth, Texas) grabbed five rebounds and had one steal in 19 minutes, and senior F Joseph Wiggins (Bossier City, La.) added two points in 17 minutes.

Freshman G Cameron Walker (Bossier City, La.) played just four minutes but had two points, one rebound, and one steal. Junior G Jerrick Baines (Alexandria, La.) played 17 minutes and had three points and an assist. Freshman G Quentin Beverly (Katy, Texas) and senior G/F Willie Davis (Bronx, New York) each scored one point. Davis grabbed four rebounds, two steals and an assist while Beverly had an assist and a steal.

Jackson (9.7 PPG) is the Gents' second-leading scorer while Beverly (8.0) is third followed by Board (7.0), Behr (6.5), Singleton (5.0), Baines (4.5), and senior G Kile Mingo (Cypress, Texas) at 4.0. Thomas is the leading rebounder at 7.3 per game followed by Board (5.3).
