SUWANEE, Ga. -- The SCAC office tonight announced the men's bracket for the 2023 basketball tournament, which will be begin Friday, Feb. 24 in San Antonio, Texas on the campus of Trinity University. Men's Tournament Bracket | Official Tournament Website | Week 15 Men's Basketball Release

The seeds for this year's men's tournament are as follows:
1) St. Thomas (16-0 SCAC; 23-2 overall)
2) Trinity (12-4 SCAC; 19-6 overall)
3) Centenary (10-6 SCAC; 17-8 overall)
4) Colorado College (9-7 SCAC; 12-13 overall)
5) Schreiner (6-10 SCAC; 12-13 overall)
6) Southwestern (6-10 SCAC; 10-15 overall)

University of St. Thomas, the two-time defending SCAC tournament champion and 13th ranked team in the nation in the most recent D3hoops.com poll, enters this year's event as the No. 1 seed after putting together a perfect 16-0 conference record en route to becoming just the second men's team in league history to put together a perfect conference mark. Centre College went 14-0 in conference play in 2007-08 and finished the regular season as the second-ranked team in the nation.

Winners of three regular season titles in their four years as members of the SCAC, St. Thomas defeated Trinity, 77-58, to take the tournament title a year ago. The Celts, however, were in their last year of provisional NCAA Division III membership and not yet eligible for postseason play.

That will not be an issue this year as the winner of this year's championship tournament will represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament as the league's automatic qualifier.

Trinity University, which is the second seed and along with St. Thomas will receive a bye into the semifinal round, is serving as host of the event for the first time since 2014.

Men's quarterfinal action gets underway at 5 p.m. CT Friday afternoon.
