Shreveport - Senior F Seth Thomas (Kilgore, Texas) has been named to the 2022-23 D3hoops.com All-Region team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Thomas, named to the Region 10 Second Team, was one of seven players to make the Second Team and one of only 12 total to land on the Region 10 Team.
Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, and schools and conferences were each contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. There were 798 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.
It's the 22nd season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams. The regional Rookie of the Year award honors the top freshman in each region, while D3hoops.com also names a regional Coach of the Year.
Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams has a first and second team. This reorganization results in approximately 10 additional players being recognized when compared to previous full seasons.
Players from these lists are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams. The men's team will be released March 18, at the national championship game, and the women's team will be released at a predetermined time between the national semifinals on March 18 and the title game on April 1.
Thomas had another outstanding season for the Gents as he averaged 15.2 PPG and 7.5 RPG, both team bests, and earned First-Team All-SCAC honors. He also received votes for Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year as he started all 27 of Centenary's games and averaged 31.2 MPG and shot a team-best 50.9 % from the floor. Thomas finished the regular season ranked third in the conference in scoring and fourth in rebounding. He was also second in minutes played, fourth in FT %, in the top five in both offensive and defensive rebounds, tied for sixth in steals, eighth in FG %, 11th in assists, and 14th in blocked shots.
He reached double figures 23 times this season and did so in 17-straight games from Nov. 26-Feb. 4. He recorded seven double-doubles and was named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week three times during the regular season. He was named to the 2023 SCAC Championship All-Tournament Team. Thomas joined the 1,000-point club on Feb. 9 in a home win over John Melvin University as he is now one of just 36 in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark. He joined the 500-rebound club on Jan. 29 against Texas Lutheran, as he becomes just the 19th player in program history to score 1,000 points and grab 500 rebounds in a career.
Thomas is the first Gent to be named to the D3hoops.com All-Region team since Cedric Harris was named to the South Region first team following the 2019-20 season.
