Women's Golf Fifth at Lady Crusader Spring Invitational

Killeen, Texas - The Centenary women's golf team is in fifth place after the first round of the Lady Crusader Spring Invitational after shooting a 125-over par 425 on Saturday at Stonetree Golf Club.

Tournament host Mary Hardin-Baylor is the overall leader at 18-over 306, eight shots ahead of second-place Trinity (26-over 314). LeTourneau is third at 68-over 356, and Mary Hardin-Baylor's "B" team is fourth at 69-over 357. The University of Dallas and Hardin Simmons had players compete as individuals.

The Ladies were back in action after just three days off following their sixth-place finish on Tuesday in the annual Hal Sutton Invitational at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City.

Junior Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) shot a 17-over par 89 on Saturday to lead the Ladies. Mary Hardin-Baylor teammates Sydney McConnell and Jo Tiger are tied atop the individual leaderboard after each shot a 1-over par 73.

Senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.) had the Ladies' second-best round of the day, shooting a 92 to tie for 21st. Junior Lindsay Strohm (McKinney, Texas) is in 28th place after shooting a 114 and freshman Madison Wing (Shreveport) shot a 118 and is 29th.

The final round negins on Sunday morning at the par-72 course with a yardage of 5,812 yards. Wing tees off at 9:08 a.m. on Sunday, Strohm at 9:16, Orlopp at 9:24, and Hayes at 9:32.
