Ladies Golf Fifth Entering Final Round at SCAC Championships

Blanco, Texas - The Centenary women's golf team is in fifth place after the first round at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Monday at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club.

The Ladies shot a 136-over par 424 in round one and will wrap up play on Tuesday morning with the second and final round. Southwestern is the leader after the first round at 31-over par 319. Trinity is second, just one shot behind the Pirates at 32-over 320, and St. Thomas is third after shooting a 48-over 336. Schreiner is fourth at 114-over 402. Southwestern's Madison Goldberg shot an even-par 72 to hold the individual lead after one round.

Junior Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) shot the Ladies' lowest round of the day on Monday, carding a 22-over 94 to sit in 20th place. Senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.) shot a 25-over 97 and is in 23rd place, junior Lindsay Strohm (McKinney, Texas) shot a 40-over 112 and is 27th, and freshman Madison Wing (Shreveport) shot a 49-over 121 and is 30th.
