Volleyball Team Falls to Top-Ranked Colorado College on Saturday in Season Finale

Shreveport - The Centenary volleyball team lost 3-0 to the top-ranked Colorado College Tigers in its final match of the season on Saturday afternoon in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies finish their season at 3-11 overall (3-11 SCAC) while the Tigers improved to 14-0 (14-0 SCAC).

Senior S Brittany Risner (Mongtomery, Texas) was honored on Saturday for the Ladies' annual Senior Day as she was the lone Centenary senior this season. Risner recorded six digs on Saturday.

Centenary finished with 45 digs, 23 kills, and 22 assists. Freshman MB Caroline Richmond (Maequez, Texas) had 10 kills, five digs, and one service ace. Junior OH Alyssa Davis (Van Alstyne, Texas) tallied six kills and five digs, and junior DS/L Marichael Clarin-Jante (Houston, Texas) and fellow junior S/RS Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) combined for 11 digs. Freshman Tori Ligman (Bossier City) had an impressive 13 digs, her second-highest total in any match this season.

Centenary entered this weekend's play ranked third in the league in digs and fourth in both assists and kills. The Ladies finished the season with 978 digs, 542 assists, and 570 kills. The Ladies finished third in the nation in division III (first after the regular season) last season in team digs with 2,642 and had five players who recorded at least 120 digs each last season. Freshman DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) finished the season with 253 as she entered the weekend ranked fourth in the conference. Five Ladies this season, like in 2019, have tallied at least 120 digs – Proctor, David, Richmond, Clarin-Jante, and Demerjian.
