Gents Fall At ULM IN Exhibition On Wednesday Evening

Monroe- The Centenary men's basketball team fell 104-67 to the ULM Warhawks in an exhibition contest on Wednesday evening at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Junior G Jalen Behr (Athens, Ga.) led the Gents with a season-high 19 points, the fourth time that he has reached double figures this season. Behr played 31 minutes and shot 7-14 from the field and was 4-11 from three-point range. He grabbed six rebounds and had two assists.

Junior G Ralph Johnson (White Castle, La.) scored 15 points in 24 minutes on 5-10 shooting. Johnson made 2-3 of his three-point attempts and was 3-4 from the free throw line. He added two rebounds and an assist. Senior G Tevin Baker (Port Arthur, Texas) scored eight points in 17 minutes with three rebounds. He made three of his five shots from the field and both of his free throw attempts. He dished out two assists and blocked a shot.

Senior G AJ Hall (Thibodaux, La.) scored six in 27 minutes off the bench. He shot 2-8 from the floor overall, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and nailed a pair of treys. Sophomore G/F Dylan Hooter (Mandeville, La.) and junior F Seth Thomas (Kilgore, Texas) each scored five points. Hooter played 20 minutes and shot 2-4 overall with one three-point basket. He grabbed one rebound and blocked one shot. Thomas played 17 minutes and recorded one assist and hit one three pointer.

Senior G Kile Mingo (Cypress, Texas) hit his only three-point attempt in two minutes. Junior F Joseph Wiggins (Bossier City, La.), sophomore G Braeden Board (Rayne, La.), and senior G Trent Washington (Gibson, La.) each scored two points.

Wiggins came off the bench and played 19 minutes, dished out a pair of assists, and grabbed one rebound. Board started and played 12 minutes, grabbed two rebounds, had two assists, and one steal. Washington added a pair of rebounds in five minutes of action.

The Gents shot 37.3 % overall from the floor and made 11-35 attempts from beyond the arc (31.4 %). Centenary attempted just seven free throws all night but made six. The Maroon and White nearly won the rebounding battle, grabbing 34 to 37 for ULM. The Gents turned the ball over 16 times and the Warhawks gave it away seven times.

ULM shot 58.6 % (41-70) overall from the field and made 11-27 from three-point range (40.7 %). The Warhawks also made 11-14 from the free throw line and tallied 20 assists on their 41 made baskets. ULM totaled nine steals and blocked five shots while the Gents tallied 12 assists, blocked two shots, and had one steal. Six ULM players scored in double figures, led by 21 from Andre Jones.

The Gents are back home this weekend as they return to regular-season action to face Texas College on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. Centenary is on a three-game winning streak with two of the wins by 20 or more points.
