Blanco, Texas - The Centenary men's golf team finished sixth at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Tuesday at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
The Gents shot a 22-over par 310 in the final round and finished at 67-over par 931 for the tournament. Centenary shot a 14-over par 302 in round one and a 31-over 319 in round two on Monday for a 45-over 621 for the day.
Trinity claimed the team title, finishing three shots ahead of Texas Lutheran, shooting a three-day total of 879 (+15) after rounds of 291 and 288 on Monday. TLU's Nathan Haley claimed medalist honors as he fired a 2-under par 214 to finish three shots ahead of runner-up Holden Wisener of Trinity (+1, 217).
Sophomore Richard Polan (Brno, Czech Republic) recorded Centenary's best individual finish of the tournament as he finished in a tie for seventh place after shooting an 8-over par 224 to earn Second-team All-SCAC honors. Senior Brodey Warner (Brookeland, Texas) joined Polan in the top 10 as he tied for ninth place after shooting a 9-over par 225 to also garner Second-team All-SCAC honors. Polan shot a 3-over 75 on Tuesday while Warner shot a 4-over par 76.
Senior Harrison John (Lafayette, La.) tied for 25th after shooting a final-round 80 to finish at 26-over par 242 for the tournament. Freshman Riley Chase (Crosby, Texas) finished 29th (31-over par 247) after shooting a 79 on Tuesday, and fellow freshman Ricky Blair (Bossier City, La.) finished 30th after shooting an 82 in the final round on Tuesday and shot 32-over 248 for the week.
