Bossier City, La. - The Centenary golf teams each recorded top-five finishes on Tuesday in an abbreviated Hal Sutton Invitational, their annual home tournament, with the Gents earning a runner-up finish and the Ladies placing fourth at The Golf Club at Stonebridge.

Severe weather overnight and continued heavy rain on Tuesday morning made the course unplayable, thus the men's field completed 27 of their scheduled 54 holes while the women's field played just 18 of their 36 expected holes. The men played 27 holes on Monday.

The Ladies shot a 112-over par 400 to finish fourth. Tyler Junior College won the team title at 46-over 334. Mississippi College finished second on the women's side at 48-over 336, just two shots off the lead. Millsaps College placed third at 81-over par 369. Murray State Community College was fifth at 113-over par 401. Lucy Holbrough of Tyler won the individual title after shooting an 8-over par 80. She finished two shots ahead of two of her teammates, Madison Brown and Taylor-Rose Hubbard (10-over 82). Jenna Belton of Mississippi College also tied for second place at 10-over 82.

The Gents shot a 28-over par 460 to finish eight shots behind tournament champion Blinn College (20-over par 452). Centenary shot a 24-over par 312 total on Monday and a 4-over par 148 in the shortened second round (nine holes). Binn shot a 21-over 309 on Monday and then a 1-under 143 in the second round.

Blinn's "B" team finished third (33-over 465), Tyler Junior College finished fourth, Louisiana Christian University placed fifth, Murray State College finished sixth, Millsaps finished seventh, Jacksonville College eighth, Belhaven ninth, and Augustana College finished 10th. Cameron Gray of Blinn shot a 2-over par 110 to win the individual men's title. Sophomore Ricky Blair (Bossier City, La.) recorded the Gents' top finish as he shot a 4-over par 112 to tie for fourth place. Blair shot a 6-over 78 in Monday's opening round.

On the women's side, freshman Kiley Smith (Fort Worth, Texas) led the way for the Ladies with a 23-over par 95 and to finish 17th, senior Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) finished 18th after shooting a 26-over par 98, sophomore Madison Wing (Shreveport, La.) finished 21st after posting a 30-over par 102 and senior Lindsay Strohm (McKinney, Texas) shot a 33-over par 105 to finish 24th.

Smith earned her second-straight top-20 finish after placing 13th last week at the Pinecrest Invitational. Hayes recorded her 11th top-25 career finish and has now done so in eight of her last nine tournaments. She finished in the top 25 in all five tournaments that she played in last season. Wing and Strohm each placed in the top 30 for the second-straight week.

Centenary sophomore Drew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) and junior Richard Polan (Brno, Czech Republic) each earned top-20 finishes. Bennett shot a 5-over par 77 in the first round and a 3-over 39 in the second round. Polan rebounded from a an 8-over 80 with a 2-over 38 in his final nine holes. Junior Devan Martin (Watson, La.) tied for 27th place after a first-round 5-over par 77 and a 10-over 46 in the second-round nine holes. Senior Harrison John (Lafayette, La.) tied for 36th place after an 18-over par 90 in round one followed by a 1-over par 37. Freshman Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.) and senior Mitchell Lulich (New Orleans, La.) each played as individuals. Jones shot a 149 and Lulich a 189 total as Jones finished 51st and Lulich 52nd.

Next up for the Ladies is the MUW Invitational April 11-12 at Elm Lake Golf Course in Columbus, Miss. The Gents are next in action April 4-5 in the Rhodes Spring Invitational at Mirimichi Golf Course in Millinton, Tenn.
