The Gents (3-4-2, 0-1 SCAC) are back in action for the first time since falling 5-0 to the Colorado College Tigers at home last Friday in their conference opener. Texas Lutheran (11-0, 2-0 SCAC) enters Friday's action undefeated on the season and atop the conference standings. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 19 in the nation by United Soccer Coaches, marking the first time that TLU has been nationally ranked in program history.

Centenary trails the all-time series with TLU 17-2-1 and have lost 14 in a row to the Bulldogs dating back to a double-overtime tie in 2014. Despite the lopsided results recently, five matches have been decided by one goal in that span. The Gents are 3-1-1 on their home field this season while the Bulldogs are 6-0 in road matches. The Bulldogs were picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll and the Gents were predicted to finish eighth.

Centenary's two primary goalkeepers - junior GK Casey Clemo (Forney, Texas) and junior Sam Brocato (Leesville, La.), are ranked in the top eight in the conference in saves (Clemo – 20) and goals against average (Brocato – 1.82). Brocato started the Colorado College match last Friday and made four saves in his nearly 80 minutes of action before freshman Isaac Lilly (New Orleans, La.) made his collegiate debut and went the final 10:35.

Senior F Rene Escobar (Cypress, Texas) is the team leader in both goals (three) and points (seven), and senior F/MF Michael Smith (Baton Rouge, La.) is the Gents' leader in assists with two. Junior F Ron Masti (Houston, Texas) is second on the team in goals with two and has one assist for a total of five points. Ten different Gents have scored a goal this season and seven have tallied at least one assist.

Preston Huff and Jack Manke are tied for the Bulldogs' team lead in goals with five each. Huff, Manke, and Erick Lopez each have two assists and Manke and Huff share the team lead in points (13) with Lopez right behind with 10 aided by his four goals. Noel Pena is the Bulldogs' primary keeper as he has 33 saves and seven shutouts this season.

The Gents wrap up their home weekend with another conference contest on Sunday against the Southwestern University Pirates at 2 p.m.
