Anaheim, Calif. - The Centenary Competitive Cheer team will compete in the United Spirit Association Collegiate Championships on Saturday and Sunday at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The competition will be streamed live at on varsitytv.com
At the national competition, the team is slated to perform four separate routines - three in the collegiate game day division and one in the small co-ed four-year college intermediate show cheer division.
The game day routines will be performed on Saturday only with awards directly following, and the show cheer routine will take the stage on Saturday for prelims and again on Sunday the for finals with awards following.
The game day vision is made up of three separate routines; fight song, situational/sideline, and band chant. Each routine is one minute in length and is judged on their creativity and crowd leading ability. There are 13 teams competing in fight song, 12 teams in sideline/situational, and 11 teams in band chant.
These teams range from NCAA Division 1 to junior college as teams in these routines are not separated by size and all divisions compete against one another. Teams can put up to 35 on the floor and a minimum of five. Centenary Cheer will be showcasing 15 in each of these routines.
For the show cheer division, eight members of the Centenary cheer team will come together to take on four other four-year college teams ranging in division size from DI to DIII. This routine is a traditional two and half minute all-star style routine that has a cheer and music portion of it and is comprised of jumps, tumbling, stunts, baskets, pyramid, and dance. Prelims for this routine are worth 30% of the teams score and finals are worth the other 70%.

"Our entire season since May has been leading to this point," said Centenary head coach Kaylee King. It's really a time for our team to get a chance to showcase what they are really capable of outside of the sideline arena.
"They have put in countless hours to work to perfect these routines and really check the boxes on the scoresheets. They are going up against some much larger and more established programs, but they are more than capable of holding their own and having great success in California."
"As a young team, they have accomplished a lot in a short period of time. With only four people from the team having set foot on the college nationals' stage, it's going to be exciting to see those who haven't gotten to have this opportunity. I am beyond proud to coach this team and I can't wait to see them really perform and enjoy their time in California."
