
Golf Teams Tee Off In Crusader Cup On Monday
The Centenary men's and women's golf teams tee off in the Crusader Cup hosted by the University of Dallas at Hawk’s Creek Golf Club.
Westworth Village, Texas – The Centenary men's and women's golf teams tee off in the Crusader Cup hosted by the University of Dallas on Monday at Hawk's Creek Golf Club.

This week's tournament will be the final one of the Fall for both the Ladies and Gents as the Ladies are coming off of a sixth-place finish last week in the Bash at the Bend hosted by Hardin-Simmons University at Cypress Bend Resort in Many, La. and the Gents finished second in a dual match against Southern University at Oakwing Golf Club in Alexandria on Oct. 14.
The host Crusaders and Ladies and Gents will be joined by Concordia University, Howard Payne University, Lyon College, McMurry University, Our Lady of the Lake University, Schreiner University, the University of St. Thomas, and Texas Lutheran University. The men's field will be tested by a par 72, 6,712-yard layout while the women will play a 5,648-yard (par 72) course.
Ladies' Last Time Out: The Ladies shot a 209-over par 785 in the Bash at the Bend, opening with a 105-over 393 in the first round followed by a 104-over 392 in the final round.
Freshman Haylee Crowder (Haughton, La.) earned the Ladies' best finish as she tied for 11th place at 34-over par 178 as she carded a 15-over par 87 in the final round which was preceded by a 19-over par 91 in round one. Crowder recorded her best finish of the season as her previous best was 15th at the 2024 SCAC Preview last month.
Sophomore Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) shot five strokes better from day one to day two and moved up three spots to finish 36th at 59-over par 203 as she shot a 27-over 99 in the final round after a 32-over par 104 in the first round. Freshman Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) was right behind her in 37th place at 60-over 204 (103-101). Junior Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) and sophomore Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) finished in a tie for 38th place at 62-over par 206. Roberts shot rounds of 98-108 while Templeton shot 101-105.
Gents' Last Time Out:
Centenary and Southern each played 18 holes in a "winner take all" match as the top four scores counted. The men played a Par 72 layout with a yardage of 7,043 as the Gents shot a 21-over par 309 while the Jaguars shot a winning score of 8-over par 296.

The Ladies' lineup this week will be same five from the Bash at the Bend – Crowder, Roberts, Shaw, Templeton, and Thompson as they will tee off between 9:50 and 10 a.m. on Monday.
The Gents' lineup will consist of Bennett, Borchert, Briggs, Jones, and Snell and they will tee off between 9:50 and 10:30 a.m.
