Gents Record One Individual Win Versus McMurry On Friday

Shreveport – The Centenary swimming teams completed the first of two consecutive conference dual meets versus the McMurry University War Hawks on Friday evening at the Centenary Fitness Center (FIT) as the Gents fell 118-26 and the Ladies came up short, 104-38.

Sixteen events were held and Centenary recorded one individual victory, four runner-up finishes and a runner-up in the women's 400-yard medley relay. Junior Antonio Barbee (Plaquemine, La.) won the 200 fly in a time of 2:10.72 and placed third in the 500 free (5:34.38).

Senior Camryn Hebert (Youngsville, La.) earned a runner-up finish in the 500 free (6:13.35), Junior Bryn Jenkins (Houston, Texas) did so in the 200 back (2:31.86), and senior Katie Malicoat (Wichita, Kan.).earned a runner-up finish in the 100 free (1:04.09). Junior Anacelia Galeano Balam (Baton Rouge, La.) finished third in the 500 free (6:18.01), and senior Christine Goodman (Alexandria, La.) recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 breast (2:49.72) and 100 free (1:04.51).

Malicoat also finishes fourth in the 200 IM (2:39.91) and fifth in the 200 breast (2:54.81). Jenkins also earned a fifth-place finish in the 100 free (1:08.27) and freshman Adriana de la Fuente (Baton Rouge, La.) finished seventh in the 100 free (1:14.01).

The Ladies' foursome of Hebert, Goodman, Jenkins, and Galeano Balam earned a runner-up finish in the 400-medley relay (4:43.50) and de la Fuente teamed with Hebert, Goodman, and Jenkins to finish third in the 200-free relay (2:00.25).

On the men's side, freshman Jameson Feeney (Shreveport, La.) had a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200 breast (2:39.77) and the 200 IM (2:31.19). Freshman Donovan Tohill (Lumberton, Texas) finished fourth in both the 200 back (2:28.78) and the 100 free (57.98). Junior Aiden Peterkin (Zachary, La.) finished fifth in the 200 back (2:38.01) and the 500 free (5:54.66).

Barbee, Feeney, Peterkin, and Tohill teamed to finish third in the 400-medley relay (4:15.54) and third in the 200-free relay (1:46.43).
