Carrie Fontaine Joins Centenary Volleyball Staff As Volunteer Assistant

Carrie Fontaine has joined the Centenary athletics staff as a volunteer assistant coach for both the Ladies varsity team and the men's club team, Ashley McDonough, head coach for both programs, announced on Monday. 

Fontaine, a native of Littleton, Colo., earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Northwestern State University, and a master's degree in School Counseling from Louisiana Tech. She is currently an elementary school counselor in Bossier Parish. She has been playing volleyball since she was nine years old and played six years for a competitive club team, the Front Range Volleyball club in Denver.

Fontaine, a starting outside hitter for her division 1-5A high school in Littleton, competed in the Adult co-ed A/B doubles circuit in Denver, for two years. She was the assistant coach for the Rocketfuel Volleyball Club 17u team in Shreveport and has also coached several Rocketfuel clinics.

The men's volleyball team is scheduled to begin its 2021 season on Jan. 13 at home versus Louisiana tech while the Ladies volleyball squad is set to face Austin College in a conference doubleheader at home on Feb. 20 with the matches set for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity
