Magnolia, Ark. - The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams will compete in the Dan Veach Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas University on Saturday at the Mulerider Track Complex.

The Ladies and Gents competed in the Jim Mize Invitational last weekend in Ruston, La.
Senior Veronica Dougherty (McAllen, Texas) earned a fourth-place finish in the women's 800m (3:04.41), and sophomore Aubrey Salazar (San Antonio, Texas) placed 20th in the shot put (7.63m) with her teammate, junior Maddie Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) right behind her in 21st place (7.52m).
Senior Kevin Brown (New Orleans, La.) finished fifth in the javelin (47.06m) and junior Xavier Venious (Bossier City, La.) finished seventh in the men's 400m in a time of 51.49. The Gents' team of freshman Lydell Hunter (New Orleans. La.), freshman Eli Melton (Carencro, La.), junior Coby Harris (Lafayette, La.), and Venious finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 3:42.31.
Hunter finished 21st in the men's 100m (11.64), Harris 22nd at 11.69, freshman Joshua Ware (Shreveport, La.) 25th at 12.03, and junior Michael Smith (Baton Rouge, La.) placed 16th (12.04).
Hunter was also the Gents' top finisher in the 200m, placing 22nd (23.86). Harris finished 23rd (24.11), Ware was 24th (24.50), and Smith finished 25th (24.60).
