Centenary Athletics Announces Addition of Two New Staff Members

Shreveport - Centenary athletics is proud to announce the addition of two new staff members, Department Assistant for Athletics Marina Johnson and Juliann Plimpton, Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine.

Plimpton, a native of Gladstone, Mich., graduated from North Park University in Chicago in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. She then received a Master's degree in Education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction in 2013. Plimpton comes to Centenary from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. where she served as head athletic trainer.

"In Juliann, we've identified a person who brings experience, energy, talent and ultimate passion to serve student-athletes and ensure they have a great collegiate experience," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Marcus Manning.

"Health, safety and well-being for Centenary student-athletes is paramount and I'm excited that Juliann is leading the way in this space," said Manning.

"I came to Centenary with a vision and a calling to serve, help, and build all those around me," said Plimpton. I believe I will help build Centenary College and I also believe it will help shape me into a better leader and Athletic Trainer."

Johnson replaces Theresa Rinaudo, who retired this month after 21 years at Centenary after serving the last 11 years as the Athletics Administrative Assistant and previously as a payroll data specialist for the college for 10 years. Johnson will serve as the assistant to the Athletic Director and is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the Athletic Department. She also serves as the liaison between the Athletics Department and Business Affairs.
