Shreveport - The Centenary Competitive Cheer team competed in its first competition of the season on Nov. 8 by participating in The Star Spirit Productions Virtual Kickoff and received the results this week. 

The team received top scores in the three main categories that included jump & tumbling execution where the team received an 8.6 out of 10, building execution with a score of 7.5 out of 10, and overall routine composition where they scored a 6.7 out of 8. Cheer was selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" in recognition of its strong showing. 

The team will take the floor for their first in-person competition on December 2 at the Shreveport Convention Center with Worldwide Spirit Association. 

The team is slated to take the floor nine times this season before heading to Anaheim, Calif. for the USA Collegiate Championships on Feb. 17 and 18, 2024.
