Gents Golf Takes Dual with Hendrix

SHREVEPORT, La. - In the uncommon golf dual, the Centenary Gents outlasted Hendrix 316 (+28) to 321 (+33) Saturday afternoon, October 14, at the Par-72, 6954-yard Club at Huntington Park golf course.

Sophomore Reed Balcerowicz turned in the best round of the day with an even-par 72, winning the dual by six strokes. He led in par-3, par-4, and par-5 scoring (even par) as well as birdies (three) and pars (12). He birdied holes 3-5, the only person on the day to shoot under par on the fourth and fifth holes.

Playing as an individual, junior Trey Llorence finished third with a 79 (+7) with a birdie on the par-5 third.

Sophomores Brodey Warner and Donald Frazier both finished sixth with an 81 (+9), while junior Ole Granrud came in eighth with an 82 (+10). Rounding out the Gent competitors, freshman Austin Craig and sophomore Taylor Wells tied for ninth with an 83 (+11). Warner was the lone golfer to birdie the par-3 16th, while Frazier was the only player to birdie the eighth (par-4). Granrud birdied the 13th (par 4) and 15th (par 5).

Craig carded the only birdies on the day on the 11th (par 5) and 17th (par 4), while Wells recorded birdies on the par-5 third and 15th.

Ben Brezette led the Warriors with a 78 (+6) to finish second and was the only player to birdie the par-4 first hole.

Centenary closes out fall competition October 30-31 at the Texas A&M Commerce Classic at Firewheel in Garland, Texas.
