Gents Golf Sits Eighth after Two Rounds in Final Tournament of the Fall

GARLAND, Texas - The Centenary Gents golf team improved three strokes from round one in the morning to round two in the afternoon and sits eighth after day one in The Classic at Firewheel Tournament on the par-72, 6,799-yard Firewheel Golf Park in Garland, Texas.

Centenary shot 663 (+87) through two rounds. Texas A&M Commerce leads the way with a 576 (even), 30 strokes ahead of Arkansas-Monticello.

Sophomore Reed Balcerowicz shot a 78 in the morning and 77 in the afternoon to sit 21st with a +11. However, the story of the second round was sophomore Taylor Wells playing as an individual, improving 10 strokes to shoot a 74 (+2) to improve seven spots. Wells is 30th with a 158 (+14) total.

Freshman Harrison John ranks 37th with a 165 (+21). Junior Edvard Granrud, freshman Austin Craig, and sophomore Brodey Warner are 41st, 44th, and 45th with a 169 (+25), 174 (+30) and 176 (+32), respectively.

The Gents wrap up the fall season with the final round of the Classic at Firewheel tournament Tuesday, October 31.
