Centenary Swimming Teams Fourth After Day One Of SCAC Championships

San Antonio, Texas – The Centenary swimming team completed action on day one of the 2020 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Josh Davis Natatorium.

The Ladies and Gents each sit in fourth place overall after the first day of competition while host Trinity sits atop both the men's and women's standings after day one. The Ladies collected 80 total points while the Gents earned 74.

Centenary placed fourth in both the men's and women's 200 Yard Medley Relay on Wednesday as the Ladies' quartet of Madelyn Frederick (Slidell, La.), Sarah Harrison (Alexandria, La.), Brianna Serret (Alexandria, La.), and Kaylin Swoboda (New Orleans) swam a finals time of 1:51.42.

The Gents' team of Eddie Dyess (Vidor, Texas), Ricky LaFleur (Lafayette, La.), Mitchell Lulich (New Orleans, La.), and Tripp Montgomery (New Iberia, La.) finished in a time of 1:38.66.

That same foursome for the Gents placed fifth in the finals of the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 7:12.98 and Harrison, Serret, and Swodoba teamed with sophomore Margot Frost (Prairieville, La.) to swim the finals of the 800 Relay in 8:12.95 and finish fourth.

The Maroon and White will be back in action on Thursday for day two. The championship continues through Saturday, Feb. 15.
