Gents Set To Face Texas Lutheran In Home Finale
The Centenary football team will face the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs on Saturday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest and the Gents’ final home game of the season set for 1 p.m. at Atkins Field.

The Gents (4-4, 4-2 SCAC) return to action after a bye week last Saturday. Centenary defeated the Austin College 'Roos by a score of 41-21 on Oct. 26 at home in its most recent action and in its Homecoming game. The Gents are winners of two in a row and are 2-2 at home. Centenary completed a season sweep of the 'Roos after defeating them 36-17 in September on the road.
Texas Lutheran (7-1, 6-1 SCAC) is the conference leader and defeated Centenary 31-8 in week two this season. The Bulldogs have won five games in a row and are 3-1 on the road this season. The Gents are winners of two in a row and are 2-2 at home. The Gents will honor their lone senior – WR Braeden Board (Rayne, La.) in a pregame ceremony at approximately 12:35 p.m.
"We're facing a big challenge this week against a strong TLU team," said Centenary head coach Byron Dawson.
"It's crucial that we have an outstanding week of practice, staying committed to improving with each day and every rep. We need all the support we can get at Atkins Field 1 p.m. on Saturday for our first senior day and our final home game of the season. Now We Go!"
The Gents are averaging 316.8 yards per game on offense this season – 206.6 passing and 110.1 rushing and 23.3 PPG. The Gents' defense intercepted a season-high four passes and had four sacks two weeks ago in the win over the 'Roos. The four sacks are their second most in a game this season and the Gents finished with six tackles for loss, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble.
Centenary piled up 411 yards of total offense – its second-most in a game behind only its 443 against Lyon College on Oct. 5. The Gents passed for 200 or more yards for the fourth game in a row and fifth time this season and they topped 200 yards rushing for the third time.

PASSING: Junior QB Zin'Tavious Smith (Coushatta, La.) – 86-138 for 940 yards (6 TD and 5 INT)
RECEIVING: Junior WR Kobe Chambers (Greenwood, Miss.) – 40 catches for 474 yards and 3 TD
RUSHING: Smith – 74 attempts for 353 yards and 7 TD
TACKLES: Sophomore LB/P/PK Vance Feuerbacher (Plano, Texas) – 45 total tackles (38 solo) with 4 TFL and 1 sack
Smith is second in the league in rushing TD's, fourth in the conference in passing yards per game (117.5) and passing touchdowns and Chambers is second in receiving yards/game at 59.3. Feuerbacher is third in tackles per game (6.4) and the Gents lead the conference in sacks (18) and interceptions (14).
Freshman DB Jacob Wilson (Shreveport, La.) is tied for first in the conference in interceptions with four and his teammate, sophomore DB Bryan Washington (Wylie, Texas) is tied for third with three. Sophomore DL Gavin Jack (Mamou, La.), sophomore DL D'Qavion Lemons (Shreveport, La.), sophomore DL Kris Mesloh (Bossier City, La.), and Sophomore LB Devon Strickland (Shreveport, La.) are all tied for second in the conference in sacks with two each.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
Texas Lutheran opened the season by earning its first victory over a top 25 opponent since 2019 with its win over #13 Trinity University in San Antonio on Sept. 7.
The Bulldogs' head coach is Neal LaHue and he is in his third season at the helm.
Quarterback Caden Bosanko is one of the conference's top overall offensive players as he has thrown for 1,398 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He is averaging 174.8 yards per game and has completed 57.2 % of his passes. He is also TLU's leading rusher with 94 attempts for 512 yards and nine TD.

- Student, faculty, and staff must park on the north side of Kings Hwy.
- Handicap parking will be available in Lot 17
- Lot 16 will be reserved for those who purchased a VIP pass.
- Lot 18, the gravel lot, and the Porter's Building parking lot will be open parking. Once that area is full, the lots and turn off from Kings Hwy will be closed and people will be directed to park on the north side of Kings Hwy. There will be limited cart service once this lot closes.
