The Gents (4-5, 4-3 SCAC) fell 46-23 to the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs last Saturday at home in league play and their final home game of this historic season for the Maroon and White. Centenary, which 2-3 at home, is 2-2 on the road this season.
The War Hawks (6-3, 6-1 SCAC) blanked Lyon College 28-0 on the road last weekend are have won two games in a row. McMurry, 3-1 at home this season, defeated Centenary in Shreveport 28-10 last month as it aims for the season sweep.
"We're facing yet another challenge against a well-coached and talented McMurry team," said Centenary head coach Byron Dawson.
"We need to be physically prepared and mentally focused to compete for the full 60 minutes. Our goal is clear: execute the game plan and plays as a united team. We must bring our A game and play at a high level this Saturday afternoon. Now We Go!"
The Gents are averaging 318.8 yards per game on offense this season – 211.2 passing and 107.6 rushing and 23.2 PPG. Centenary finished with 335 total yards last weekend against TLU, gaining 248 through the air and 87 on the ground. Centenary was held to a season-low 197 yards of total offense in the first meeting with McMurry. Centenary leads the conference in interceptions (14) and is second in sacks (20). The Gents' nine fumble recoveries also leads the conference.

PASSING: Junior QB Zin'Tavious Smith (Coushatta, La.) – 86-139 for 940 yards (6 TD and 5 INT)
RECEIVING: Junior WR Kobe Chambers (Greenwood, Miss.) – 45 catches for 557 yards and 5 TD
RUSHING: Smith – 75 attempts for 339 yards and 7 TD
TACKLES: Freshman DB Jacob Wilson (Shreveport, La.) – 49 total tackles (31 solo) with a team-best 4 INT
Sophomore Vance Feuerbacher (Plano, Texas) was all over the field for the Gents on Saturday in their home finale against TLU as he started at quarterback and also handled both kicking and punting duties. He kicked a 26-yard FG, punted four times for 159 yards and kicked off six times for an average of 47.7 yards.
He also started at QB for the first time this season and finished with an impressive 318 yards of total offense as he was 16-32 passing for 248 yards and two touchdowns. He was also the Gents' leading rusher, finishing with 13 carries for 70 yards and a TD. He ran for a 52-yard TD and threw a 47-yard TD.
Chambers had a big game as he finished with five catches for 83 yards and two TD. Wilson was the Gents' leading tackler with seven solo stops.
SCOUTING THE WARK HAWKS:
McMurry, coaches by Jordan Neal, was selected to finish atop the conference standings and take home the 2024 league title in the preseason poll conducted by the league's head coaches.
The War Hawks were the unanimous choice to finish atop the conference, earning 25 points in the balloting and all five first-place votes. McMurry split a pair of games with TLU, who clinched the regular-season SCAC title with its win over the gents last weekend.
McMurry's defense owns 11 INT's and has 11 fumble recoveries. The War Hawks have 70.5 tackles for loss and 21 sacks.
The War Hawks average 374.0 yards per game on offense (266.6 passing and 107.4 rushing) and are averaging 26.4 PPG.
