Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Jan. 27 Edition

Hey Ladies Fans, this is Junior Kendall Sanders, aka K1 with this week's Gym Talk ...

The Ladies have been hard at work preparing for the season both in and out of the gym. As we approach the end of the first month of spring semester the ladies are hitting the books to stay on track to maintain our amazing team GPA of a 3.732! Way to go Ladies!

Unfortunately, the Ladies did not get to participate in the Nashville meet this past weekend, but we took advantage of the weekend practices and made some improvements. Freshman Izzy Plaza is starting her comeback with her powerful vaults and tumbling as well as learning a new mount combination on bars. Freshman Riley Molina is also making big steps since surgery on vault, floor, and beam. Another shout out to sophomore Lacey Wedge for her doubles on floor and her hard work and positivity as she works to gain her full strength back.

I also want to shout out my Roomie, Kendall Knaps, for getting this week's Beast Award. She has been working so hard and is more than deserving of this award. The ladies have been pumping out full routines like crazy getting ready to compete on any event they are needed. The team has been stepping up on all events because of this crazy Covid. However, I believe it has made us stronger and able to get out of our comfort zones on events we may not be as comfortable on. This just shows that these ladies are determined and motivated to overcome any obstacle and step out on the competition floor looking better than ever!

The Ladies even turned conditioning into fun! Ever heard of "slider Saturday." Yeah, that's right, the ladies did all types of conditioning using only sliders to strengthen our legs, core, and arms. We sure do have a team full of fun, laughs and creativity.

I am so proud of the work these ladies put in each and every day. I am so excited for what this season will hold, and I know that when it is time for us to run through those competition doors, we will be UNSTOBBABLE!!!

Next up we have a home meet, Sunday, February 7th at 4 pm against Texas Woman's and the Air Force Academy. Due to Covid we are not allowing fans at this time, but we do have FREE live stream and we will be posting on Facebook live during the event, so spend your Sunday afternoon tuning in to watch your Ladies in their first meet of the season!

Thanks for all your support, we couldn't do it without you.

Love,

Kendall (K1, Baby, Sanders)
