Ladies Gym Talk: April 9 Edition

Ladies Gym Talk: April 9 Edition

Hey Centenary Gymnastics Fans!

It's Sophomore Taylor Wilson with today's gym talk! In breaking news… we are done with 6 AM practices for the rest of this school year! Hold on to your grips because yesterday's was a good one! The Ladies started off the early morning strong with a beam intra-squad. Shoutout to all of the beam queens for getting the job done so early in the morning.

As some of our Ladies scurried off to class to be straight A students, the rest of the team continued on with events. Our vault shakers cranked out some great vaults to help us fly into this weekend. Huge shoutout to Sophomore Lacey Wedge for vaulting up to competition level all by herself! It's so great to see her feeling good and looking even better. Next, the bar stars kept it going with some fantastic routines! Shoutout to Junior Xian Baumgartner for hitting a beautiful bar routine!

After some packing, the Ladies loaded the bus Thursday morning to head to nationals – but wait, we had to delay our departure time because some of our Covid tests had not come back yet. So we waited….then off we went to Cape Girardeau, Missouri for Nationals! This is the first time the Centenary Gymnastics team has attended Nationals as a full team since 2013. High energy and excitement are going around for this weekend!

There was a lot of studying and sleeping on our 7+ hour bus ride.  With a little bit of traffic and lots of bus fun on Tik Tok, we arrived in Cape Girardeau and settled into our rooms. After dinner, we ended the night with a team meeting and then it was lights out! Keep in touch because more gym talks are coming your way all weekend long!

That's all for now! See you in Missouri!
