Lawrenceville, Ga. – Centenary's superb pair of sophomores, Seth Thomas and Ralph Johnson, were each named to the 2020-21 All-SCAC Men's Basketball team, the league office announced on Thursday.

Thomas was one of five players named to the All-SCAC First team while Johnson was named to the Third team. Centenary placed at least two players on the all-conference team for the second-consecutive season. Thomas earned All-SCAC honors for the first time in his young career while Johnson was named to the team for the second-straight season. Johnson was named the SCAC Newcomer of the Year last season and also earned Honorable-Mention honors.

Sensational sophomore forward Seth Thomas (Kilgore, Texas) is ranked in the top five in the SCAC in five categories and ranked in the top 10 in seven. He ranks third in the league in scoring (15.4 PPG), second in rebounding (8.8 RPG), second in steals (2.3 SPG), and first in defensive rebounds. He is also fifth in minutes played, eighth in free-throw percentage, and tied for ninth in blocked shots. He is also tied for 13th in three-point field goals made. He has scored in double figures in 10 of the Gents' 11 games this season, scored 20 or more points in a game three times, 15 or more five times, and had five double-doubles.

Johnson led the Gents with 19 points on 6-13 shooting in 39 minutes in last Friday's thrilling 62-59 win over Texas Lutheran in the quarterfinals of the 2021 SCAC Championship at the Gold Dome. He added five rebounds, two assists, and three steals and reached double figures for the sixth time this season and scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half. Johnson recorded six double-figure scoring games this season which included a season-high 23 points at Dallas on Jan. 30.

Thomas scored 12 points in the win over TLU, grabbed six rebounds, made 4-5 of his free-throw attempts, and had two assists. He made a clutch shot in the lane with the game tied at 59-59 and got fouled and sank the ensuing free throw to complete a three-point play and put the Gents up 62-59 with just 29 seconds left the game.

The No. 3 seed Gents (8-3) will face No. 2 seed St. Thomas in the SCAC Championship semifinals in Houston on Saturday at 3 p.m. Centenary, the defending SCAC tournament champion, is an impressive 18-3 in its last 21 conference games dating back to Jan. 25, 2020.
