Seth Thomas Named Honorable Mention All-Louisiana

Centenary sophomore forward Seth Thomas has been named to 2021 LSWA Men's College Basketball Team, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced on Tuesday.

Lafayette, La. – Centenary sophomore forward Seth Thomas has been named to 2021 LSWA Men's College Basketball Team, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced on Tuesday.

Thomas (Kilgore, Texas) is one of just 18 players in the state to be named to the squad, and he is one of three players to make the team as an Honorable Mention selection. The team was selected by a statewide panel of the men's basketball sports information directors and media members and includes players from 13 different schools across all divisions.

Thomas had a sensational sophomore season as he was a First-Team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection, ranking in the top five in the SCAC in five categories and ranked in the top 10 in seven. He ranked third in the league in scoring (15.3 PPG), second in rebounding (8.7 RPG), fourth in steals (2.1 SPG), and first in defensive rebounds (89 total/7.4/game). He ranked fourth in minutes played, ninth in free-throw percentage (75.8), and ninth in blocked shots (10). He was also tied for 10th in three-point field goals made with 19 and scored in double figures in 10 of the Gents' 11 games this season, scored 20 or more points in a game three times, 15 or more five times, and had five double-doubles.

He was named SCAC Player of the Week on Jan. 25 and named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Jan. 26 as he led the Gents in a road sweep of Schreiner in conference play the weekend prior. He posted a double-double in the Jan. 22 win, recording a career-high 24 points while grabbing 12 rebounds as the Gents earned the 79-75 victory. Centenary placed a player on the All-Louisiana Team for the second-straight season after former Gent great Cedric Harris was a First Team selection in 2020.
