Longview, Texas – The Centenary men's and women's golf teams are set to tee off in the Pinecrest Invitational hosted by LeTourneau University on Monday and Tuesday at the Pinecrest Country Club.

A Shotgun start is scheduled for both days at 8:30 AM. The Men will play 54 total holes -36 on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday, while the women will play 36 holes (18 each day). The men will play a par-71, 6,608-yard layout while the women will be tested by a par-72, 5,819-yard course.
The Gents are playing their second tournament of the spring while Monday marks the beginning of the spring season for the Ladies.
The Gents finished ninth at the NCAA division III Lidlifter hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas on Feb. 28 as they shot a 57-over par 633 at the par 72, 6,727-yard Clubs of Kingwood Forest.
Centenary shot a 29-over par 317 in round two after opening the tournament with a 28-over par 316. LeTourneau University claimed the team title, rallying from a 12-stroke deficit entering the day after shooting a 25-over par 601 in the opening round. LeTourneau finished two shots ahead of the host Comets (27-over par 603).
Junior Andrew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) was the Gents' top finisher as he shot a 6-over par 150 to tie for ninth place. Bennett shot an even-par 72 in the final round after a 6-over 78 in round one. Bennett, who will be the Gents' #1 player this week, now has three top 10-finishes in his career.
Junior Ricky Blair (Bossier City, La.) was the Gents' second-best finisher as he tied for 34th place at 14-over par 158. He is the #2 this week and freshman Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) tied for 39th place (16-over par 160) and is the #3.
Senior Devan Martin (Watson, La.) finished in a tie for 52nd place at 22-over par 166 and will be the # 4 player. Freshman Colton Mayer (Heath, Texas) will be the #5. He did not play in the Lidlifter but tied for 67th place in his collegiate debut in the Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Intercollegiate last fall. Sophomore Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.) rounds out the Centenary lineup this week. He finished 62nd after shooting a 29-over par 173 in the Lidlifter.
Freshman Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) will be the lone member of the women's golf team to compete this week and will play as an individual. She placed 58th in the abbreviated Crusader Invitational last fall after shooting a 50-over par 122. The University of Dallas hosted the event at the WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla. The tournament was shortened to just 18 holes due to inclement weather. Monday marks the beginning of the spring season for the Ladies.
Both the Gents and Ladies finished sixth in the Pinecrest Invitational last season.
