Longview, Texas – The Centenary men's and women's golf teams completed day one action at the Pinecrest Invitational on Monday at the Pinecrest Country Club.

Junior Andrew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) led the way for the Gents on Monday as he shot 72-70 – 142 (E) and is just one shot off the lead in second place entering Tuesday's final round.

The Gents shot a 69-over par 637 and are in ninth place after two rounds of play while freshman Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) shot a 39-over par 111 and is in 18^th place entering Tuesday. The rookie Roberts is the lone member of the women's golf team to compete this week and is playing as an individual.

Tuesday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM. The Men are playing a par-71, 6,608-yard layout while the women are being tested by a par-72, 5,819-yard course.

The Gents shot a 314 in round one followed by a 323 in round two. Texas Wesleyan's Juan Ricardo Davila Bone is the top individual at 1-under par 141, one shot ahead of Bennett, after firing a 67 in round one followed by a 74 in round two. Bennett is in position for the fourth top-10 finish of his career but is eyeing his first victory.

Freshman Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) is tied for 26^th place after shooting a 12-over par 154 (74-80), senior Devan Martin (Watson, La.) is in 62^nd place after shooting a 27-over 169 (83-86), junior Ricky Blair (Bossier City, La.) is right behind him in 63^rd place after shooting a +30 – 172 (85-87), sophomore Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.) shot a 34-over par 176 (85-91) and is in 67^th place, and freshman Colton Mayer (Heath, Texas) is 68^th after shooting a 38-over par 180 (90-90).

Host LeTourneau is the leader on the men's side (19-over par 587) and leads second-place Texas Wesleyan by two shots entering Tuesday's final round. Concordia University (+448 – 336) leads LeTourneau by 12 shots on the women's side with East Texas Baptist in third place, 16 shots behind LeTourneau.
