Richmond, Ind.  The Centenary lacrosse team defeated the Earlham College Quakers 11-7 on Saturday afternoon at Darrell Beane Stadium.

The Gents (2-6) won their second-consecutive game after edging the Anderson University Ravens, 12-11, on Friday night in another conference contest in Anderson, Ind. Earlham fell to 2-5. 

Centenary led 6-1 at halftime and 8-4 entering the fourth quarter. Each team scored three goals in the final period but the Gents were able to maintain their lead after a big first half to secure the victory. The Maroon and White scored 10 or more goals in a game for the fifth time in eight games and for the third game in a row.

Freshman A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas) and junior A John Mark Waniewski (Bossier City, La.) each scored four goals to lead the Gents' offense and sophomore midfielder Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.) added a pair. Spivey recorded his fourth multi-goal performance of the season and third in a row. He scored three goals in Friday's win over Anderson and scored a season-high four on Tuesday against Kalamazoo. He took five shots, all on goal, and had four ground balls.

Waniewski scored a single-game season-high four goals and turned in his second multi-goal effort of the season. He finished with nine shots, six on goal, and had one ground ball. Cook, like Waniewski, finished with nine shots and six on goal, and had five ground balls and a team-best six caused turnovers. Cook recorded his fourth multi-goal performance of the season and seventh of his young career. Freshman A Braxton Parchman (Shreveport, La.) had a team-high three assists and added two caused turnovers and a ground ball. Junior D Ethan Little (Tyler, Texas) had six caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Junior M/A Kyle Comi (Allen, Texas) had five ground balls, two caused turnovers, three shots (two on goal), and an assist. Senior LSM/FO Tripp Montgomery (New Iberia, La.) had five ground balls, junior MF Dario Garcia (Dallas, Texas) had two ground balls and a caused turnover, and sophomore LSM Jackson Ossman (Shreveport, La.) added three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.

Freshman D Barrett Stewart (Boerne, Texas) had five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Sophomore D Matthew Lulich (New Orleans, La.) added four ground balls. Junior D Chris Dant (Bossier City, La.) had a team-high seven ground balls, a caused turnover, and took shots (one on goal). Freshman GK Alex Nicks-Davis (Nashville, Tenn.) played all 60 minutes and picked up his second win of the season as he recorded six saves and had three ground balls.

Elijah Gamber led the Quakers with four goals and Kevin Ventura had two goals and Sam Sargent added a goal and an assist. Donovan Shea had a game-high nine ground balls and added five caused turnovers. GK Emmitt Shaughnessy (2-5) suffered the loss as he allowed all goals and made 13 saves.

Centenary finished with a 50-32 advantage in ground balls and won 13-21 face-off opportunities. The Gents went 20-31 on clears while the Quakers went 22-33. Centenary took 36 shots to 28 for Earlham and the Quakers turned it over 37 times while the Gents gave it away 34 times.

The Gents will next be in action on Sunday, April 10 as they will face the Colorado College Tigers in their annual Senior Day match set for 1 p.m. at Mayo Field.
