Bossier City, La. - The Centenary golf teams finished round one of the Hal Sutton Invitational, their annual home tournament, on Monday at The Golf Club at Stonebridge.
The men and women will play their final 18 holes on Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The Gents shot a 35-over par 323 and are in eighth place while Louisiana Christian University is the day one leader at 18-over 306. Blinn College's "A" team is second at 19-over par 307 and its "B" team is third at 21-over 309. Jacksonville College and Tyler Junior College are tied for fourth place at 28-over par 316.
Freshman Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) was the lone member of the Centenary women's team to compete as she played as an individual and shot a 32-over par 104 and is in 27th place. Blinn College leads on the women's side after shooting a 37-over par 253.
Junior Andrew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) shot a 4-over par 76 for the Gents' lowest round of the day as he is tied for ninth place. Junior Ricky Blair (Bossier City, La.) shot a 6-over 78 and is tied for 14th. Senior Devan Martin (Watson, La.) is tied for 35th place after shooting a 12-over 84, freshman Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) is tied for 37th after shooting a 13-over par 85, and freshman Hahn Bridges (Sterlington, La.) is tied for 48th at 20-over par 92.
Sophomore Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.), freshman Colton Mayer (Heath, Texas), and freshman Parker Christensen (Castle Rock, Colo.) all played as individuals. Jones shot a 20-over par 92 and is tied for 48th place, Mayer sot a 33-over 105 to sit in 54th place, and Christensen is 55th at 50-over 122.
Stan Sztur of Louisiana Christian is the individual leader after firing a 3-under par 69 and is two shots ahead of his teammate, Zane Blanchard (1-under par 71) as they are the only two men's players under par. Jordan Davis of Tyler JC is the women's leader at 6-over par 78.
