Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Nov. 3 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Nov. 3 Edition

Hey hey, it is Junior Lacey Wedge here with a spectacular gym talk. Let me take you all on a ride in the life of a Centenary Gymnast this past week:)

The Ladies have been working super hard and have been improving on their skills and details every day. As many of you gymnasts may know, the details make the harder things easy and effortless. I can see the motivation in the eyes of these Ladies each day when we step into the gym. We get in and grind each day as if it is our last. These Ladies have been fighting as a family to teach and understand our capabilities as a team to be able to conquer everything through mettle.

Family is such a big part of being on a team, especially through hard times. We know that we will be there for each person to bring them up when they are down, that is FAMILY, and we are FAMILY. We never give up and we never let anything get in our way of the success we want for our FAMILY. This past week we have continued to come together as the family we know we are, inside and outside the gym. YES, YES, WE DO IT ALL!!!

Saturday the Ladies had a team day where we split into two teams and focused on our goals we want for the season and started accomplishing them. There were a lot of people who stepped up and pushed themselves to become better, not only for themselves but for the team!! Due to a wrist injury, Senior Xian had to change her series on beam, but that did not stop this fighter! She did her new series on the high beam like a BOSS. CAN YOU SAY BEAM QUEEN! Along with Xi Pie, Senior Kendall Sanders has been working super hard to get back in the grind due to a shin injury. Bars was one of the main events she could train; now she is back on all four events making such strong improvements day by day. Another senior, Kendall Knaps is also getting it done as she continues to make progress on her comeback from last years injury. They are coming back so strong and I cannot be more proud of them! These minor setbacks will be such a major comeback for these Ladies; they really do want to make the last one, the best one! I KNOW YOU ARE JUST AS EXCITED AS MEE!!!

This Sunday the Ladies had their SPOOKY Halloween practice. Everyone dressed up to show out and be spooky. The freshman class started us off with Emma: Kim possible, Carissa: 70's workout instructor, & Chloe: kitty. Moving on to our sophomores there was Roxy & Rylie: kitty, and Izzie: Little Red Riding Hood. The juniors which were Lacey, Taylor, Rose, and Kendall Huff: creepy clowns, Lani: fisher man, Lauryn: a ghost, and Kennedy saving the day as Captain Underpants! Lastly, we have our lovely seniors, who dressed as all the Joe's, Knaps: Joe Burrow, Sanders: Joe from Bachelor in Paradise, Xi: Joe mama & Maddie: G.I. Joe). We had so much fun with our costumes! We made a runway and everyone played their role like no other! WE UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT!!!

After the Ladies showed off their costumes, we got to work and had such a productive and intentional practice. Everyone knew what they had to do for the day and got it done. Coach Jackie gave each one of us a paper that had what we needed to improve on for each event. This was to make sure we are continuing to move in the correct direction for when the competition season arrives. This helped a lot of us to be able to see where we are and either where we need to be or how to keep up the consistency for that event!

These Ladies are ready for anything! Are y'all ready? It is going to be a good one and I would not want to miss it. Thank you all for keeping up with the Ladies! Hope you are having a wonderful day. Signing off from your mini me,

            Lacey Bug:)
