Hey Ladies fans! Its freshman Emma Lavelle bringing you this week's gym talk.
We just wrapped up our last week of classes and are gearing up for finals. All of the Ladies have been studying hard and are excited to wrap up our fall classes!
This week we celebrated our last swim practice of the year! We jumped in the pool eager to swim this Thursday morning. Coach Jackie decided to challenge us this week to swim relays while wearing a long sleeve shirt and parachutes. Now let me tell you something, the Ladies were on fire this Thursday morning. Swim team better watch out because we have some strong swimmers that may give them a run for their money. To wrap up our last swim practice, we ended with a fun game of water volleyball! Your Centenary Ladies ended prep week with a black and maroon intrasquad! The team has been working hard to clean up routines and get meet ready. T-minus 28 days till the Ladies kick off our meet season, starting with an intrasquad in the Gold Dome. I hope to see all our Ladies fans in the Dome on January 9th! I want to give a big shoutout to Seniors Kendall Knaps and Xian Baumgartner for their stellar routines tonight! Knaps has been nursing a back injury since last season and worked hard to put together a full bar routine within a week! What a BAR STAR! And Miss Xian is getting groovy with her new floor routine. I can't wait for her to perform it in the Gold Dome!
My final shout out of the night goes to my fellow freshman, Carissa Martinez! Rissy Rue competed floor and beam for team maroon and killed it! You couldn't even tell Riss was coming back from an injury. She looks very strong and confident in her routines!!
I am happy to see all our Ladies who have been set back by injuries get back into the game! The Ladies are looking strong as we gear up for competition season.
