Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Feb. 8 Edition

Hi Ladies Fan, its Senior Kendall Sanders here with this week's Gym talk.

After a "weeklong sabbatical" as Coach Brittany says, the Ladies had their first meet in THE DOMMEEEE. Even with a break, the Ladies have been working hard to polish routines, add in upgrades and increase our depth.

Our Freshman made their debuts in the Dome with Emma Lavelle putting up scores on all events for the Ladies (and all three floor passes in bounds wink wink). Freshman Carissa Martinez also rocked the dome with her fun lead off routine on floor! Junior Kendall Huff was out of this world with her huge tuck full on vault scoring a 9.725!  Junior Rose Deshler started the Ladies off on bars with an upgraded bar routine!

After a rocky bar rotation, sophomore Riley Molina really brought it back as the lead off on beam. Let me just tell you, best leadoff around and her smile at the end was priceless! Senior Xian Baumgartner added back in her triple series and NAILED IT! Moving on to the floor the Ladies were pumped to show off their "Lady P." Showtime Go Time!!  Sophomore Roxanne Myers made the team glittery cowboy hats to wear during Kendall Huff's "Cotton eye joe" routine. Senior Xian Baumgartner upgraded her floor routine and it was a showstopper!! Junior Leilani Johnson debuted her new floor routine as well!!

The Beast Award, an award given to honor our late teammate Sylvia Keiter was given to a gymnast from each team. Senior Kendall Sanders from Centenary, and Abby Halasi-Kun from Air Force received the Beast Award for the meet.

Overall, the Ladies are ready to hit the gym, make some improvements, polish routines, and show out at TWU. Senior Madison McCary has been working hard on bars and beam. Watch out for her soon!

Thank you to everyone who helped the Ladies out this past weekend. Shout out to the mommas for making our locker room so special. We are truly blessed with the best fans around!
