Men's Golf Finishes Ninth In Season Opening Event

Seguin, Texas - The Centenary men's golf team finished ninth at the John Bohmann Invitational on Tuesday at the Starcke Park Golf Club to open its 2019 season. 

The Gents were led by senior Reed Balcerowicz (Crosby, Texas) who tied for eighth place with a 4-over 217. Trinity's Daniel Nunez took the individual title after firing a 3-under 210 to edge McMurry's Lane Roy by one stroke. 

McMurray claimed the team title in the two-day tournament hosted by Texas Lutheran University, finishing with a 1-over 853 overall score, 12 shots ahead of second-place University of Dallas. 

Gents freshman Richard Polan finished tied for 24th place at +9 222 including a final round 73. teammate Brodey Warner earned a top 50 finish with a +15 228, good for a 42nd place tie. Junior Harrison John also placed in the top 50 overall (tie for 49th place). 

The Gents will next be in action at the Louisiana College Fall Invitational held at Links on the Bayou Golf Course in Alexandria Oct. 23-24.
