Gents'  Reed Balcerowicz Top Individual At Pinecrest Intercollegiate; Centenary Third

Longview, Texas – Centenary senior Reed Balcerowicz claimed the individual title and the Gents men's golf team finished third at the Pinecrest Intercollegiate hosted by LeTourneau University on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,923-yard Pinecrest Country Club.

Balcerowicz (Crosby, Texas) earned his first career victory as he fired a final round 3-under par 68 and shot even par 213 for the tournament. The senior finished one shot ahead of Tyler Cohen of Rhodes College and two ahead of teammate Richard Polan (Brno, Czech Republic) who shot a 2-over par 215.

The Gents shot a 43-over par 895 for the tournament to record their second-best finish of the season. Centenary won the Louisiana College Fall Invitational in September in Alexandria, La. Rhodes claimed the team title, shooting a 24-over par 876. The host LeTourneau YellowJackets placed second at 31-over par 883.

Junior Harrison John (Lafayette, La.) and senior Taylor Wells (Shreveport) tied for 24th place at 24-over par 237. Senior Brodey Warner (Brookeland, Texas) finished one shot behind teammates John and Wells at 25-over par 238 to tie for 26th place. Senior Gabe Rodriguez (Bossier City. La.) shot a 36-over par 249 and tied for 39th.

Centenary has now recorded three top-five team finishes this season. The Gents will next host the annual Hal Sutton Invitational at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City March 22-24.
