Longview, Texas – The Centenary men's golf team is in third place after day one of the Pinecrest Intercollegiate hosted by LeTourneau University on Monday at the par-71, 6,923-yard Pinecrest Country Club.
The Gents shot a 605 total (307-298) identical rounds of 307 and are behind only the leader Rhodes College (584 total) and second place host LeTourneau (588).
Centenary freshman Richard Polan (Brno, Czech Republic) is tied for the individual lead after firing a 1-over par 143 (72-71) on Monday. Rhodes' Grant Hill shares the lead with the Gents rookie. Senior Reed Balcerowicz (Crosby, Texas) is tied for fourth place after shooting a 3-over par 145 with rounds of 73 and 72.
Senior Taylor Wells (Shreveport), competing as an individual, is tied for 21st place after shooting a 15-over par 157. Seniors Brodey Warner (Brookeland, Texas) and Gabe Rodriguez (Bossier City. La.) are in a tie for 27th place at 19-over par 161 and junior Harrison John (Lafayette, La.) is tied for 35th place after finishing with a 22-over par 164.
Seven teams make up the tournament field as Louisiana College, Jacksonville College, and Murray State College have joined Rhodes and Centenary and ETBU and LeTourneau are featuring "A" and "B" teams this week.
The final round begins on Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Results will be posted on Golfstat at the conclusion of play and a full recap will be available on www.gocentenary.com.

Centenary will next host the annual Hal Sutton Invitational at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City March 22-24.
