Ladies Golf Sits Ninth After Day 1 in Las Vegas

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. - In a field full of NCAA Division II institutions, the Centenary Ladies Golf team is tied for ninth after the first round of the Minot State Intercollegiate at the Par-72, Aliante Golf Club Friday, March 9.

The Ladies sit tied with Chadron State and are 23 strokes ahead of Minnesota-Crookston. Rocky Mountain College fired a +41 (329) and leads the tournament, one stroke ahead of both Point Loma and Southwest Minnesota State.

Junior Jessica Varner is tied for 28th after a +14 (86) in the first round, two strokes ahead of junior Taylor Adair (tied for 34th).

Sophomore Erin Rostro and junior Shannon Orlopp both are tied for 60th with a round of 109 (+35), while senior Toni Ficarra is 63rd after a 109 (+37). Competing as an individual, freshman Aerial Reeves is 57th after a first round of +32 (104).

Centenary concludes the weekend tomorrow with the final round. Tee time is set for 9 a.m. (7 a.m
