LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - On the heels of her fourth win of the season and sixth of her career, junior Jessica Varner earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week honors for the fifth time this season and eighth time in her career.

At the Pinecrest Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday in Longview, Texas, she won the tournament by six strokes with a total of 152 (+8). While she took the lead on day one thanks in part to a -2 total on par-5's, Varner held on to the lead after the final round thanks to par-4 scoring. Finishing four over on par-4s in round one, she finished only one over for Tuesday's round. Varner carded the most birdies (six) and the fourth-most pars (17) for the tournament.

In Las Vegas Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10, she finished 17th with a 165 (+21) total at the Minot State Intercollegiate, a field comprised mostly of NCAA Division II schools.

The Ladies and Gents Golf teams both return to action Monday and Tuesday, March 19-20, at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City for the annual Hal Sutton Invite.
