Longview, Texas - The Centenary women's golf team finished sixth in the 2022 Pinecrest Invitational hosted by LeTourneau University on Tuesday at the Pinecrest Country Club.

The Ladies shot a 108-over par 396 in Tuesday's final round after a 131-over par 419 in Monday's opening round to finish at +239 – 815 for the tournament. Mary Hardin-Baylor won with a score of 62-over par 638, finishing 57 strokes ahead of runner-up East Texas Baptist University.

The Ladies, playing in their first tournament this spring at the par-72, 5,716-yard PCC, were fifth after Monday's first round. They were joined in the two-day event by the host YellowJackets and 13 other schools - East Texas Baptist University, Schreiner University, Hendrix College, Tyler Junior College, Jacksonville College, Murray State, University of Houston-Victoria, Central College, Dallas Christian College, Concordia University, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Louisiana Christian University, and McMurry University.

Centenary freshman Kiley Smith (Fort Worth, Texas) recorded the Ladies' top finish of the tournament as she placed 13th at +35 – 179. She shot an 18-over par 90 in Monday's first round and followed that with an 89 on Tuesday. Senior Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) shot a final-round 96 to finish 20th, marking her 10th top-25 career finish and has now done so in seven of her last eight tournaments. She finished in the top 25 in all five tournaments that she played in last season. Hayes shot a 25-over 97 on Monday. Sophomore Madison Wing (Shreveport, La.) shot 111-110 – 221 (+77) to finish 26th and senior Lindsay Strohm (McKinney, Texas) shot 121-101 – 222 (+78) to finish 27th.

The Ladies were back in action for the first time since recording a seventh-place finish in the University of Dallas Crusader Invitational back in October in Thackerville, Okla. Smith finished 17th at the event and now has two too-20 finishes in her rookie season.

Mary Hardin-Baylor's Sydney McConnell won the individual title at + 11 – 155 (78-77) as she beat out her teammate Avery Hill by three shots. Mary Hardin-Baylor and ETBU had nine of the top 10 individuals.

The Ladies will next be in action on March 21-22 as they host the annual Hal Sutton Invitational at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City.
