The Ladies (5-0) remained undefeated on the season with a 1-0 shutout over the Austin College 'Roos on Saturday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at home. The Maroon and White posted their fourth-straight shutout and have allowed just a single goal all season as they have outscored the opposition, 13-1. McDonald scored Centenary's goal on Saturday night with a beautiful strike from 35 yards out past the box into the back of the net in the 28th minute of the first half. The goal was McDonald's fourth of her career.

The Owls (1-8) defeated Millsaps 1-0 at home on Saturday for their first win of the season. Tuesday's contest is a rematch of a Feb. 22 game in Columbus, Miss. won by the Ladies 4-0. Centenary scored two goals apiece in each half in the game, as sophomore midfielder Celeste Muniz (Denton, Texas) and junior Gabby McDonald (Pasadena, Texas) scored in the first half and sophomore forward Avery Gilbert (League City, Texas) and freshman midfielder Jordyn Ambrose (Allen, Texas) each scored in the second half.

The record for shutouts in a single season in the division III (2011-present) era is seven and the Ladies have already tied the fourth-place record through five games and are just one shutout away from the second-place record of five set in 2017 and last season. Ten different Ladies have scored goals this season, two (Gilbert and McDonald) have scored multiple goals, and three freshmen have found the net.

Centenary has won 21 of its last 24 matches dating back to the beginning of last season and are 11-1 in its last 12 home matches as the Maroon and White are a perfect 3-0 this season after going a superb 8-1 last season at Mayo Field. The Ladies are 3-0 in non-conference play this season and have won 12 consecutive matches played out of conference, having not lost since the 2017 season.

The Ladies are dominating the conference's statistical categories through the season's first five games, as Centenary is the SCAC leader in shots, points, goals, assists, goals per game, fewest goals allowed, goals against average, and is second in saves. Centenary also currently leads in seven different individual categories.

Senior goalkeeper Maggie Pitcher (San Antonio, Texas) recorded her fourth shutout of the season on Saturday and the 10th of her career which sets a new division III program era record for shutouts in a career. Pitcher, named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on March 1, had three saves on Saturday night and now has 19 saves for the season. Pitcher has an impressive .950 save percentage for the season and entered the game leading the conference in saves. She enters Tuesday's play in a tie for second place in the country in shutouts, 13th in save percentage, 15th in goals against average, and 21st in saves.

The Ladies return to SCAC play this weekend as they square off with the University of Dallas on Saturday, March 13 at 3:30 p.m. and then face Schreiner (March 20) at 2 p.m. in consecutive weeks at home.
