Maddie Vacula Named SCAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

Lawrenceville, Ga. - Centenary freshman Madeline Vacula (Belton, Texas) was named the SCAC Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.

Vacula continued her impressive rookie season on Saturday in the Austin College Invitational against the host 'Roos and University of the Ozarks as she won both the 1650 free and 500 free, swimming season-best times in both events, 18:40.06 in the 1650 and 5:27.85 in the 500.

She was also part of the Ladies' 200 medley and 200 free relay team that each placed second. Vacula now has six individual wins and three runner-up finishes this season. She was swimming the 1650 for the first time this season.

Vacula becomes the Ladies' second swimmer this season to earn this weekly award. Senior Brianna Serret (Alexandria, La.) was named the SCAC Women's Swimmer of the Week in November. 

Centenary will host Austin College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in its annual Senior Day meet.
