Collin Taylor Named Development Officer for Athletics

Shreveport – Collin Taylor has been named Development Officer for Athletics at Centenary College, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced on Monday.

Taylor, a 2004 graduate of Centenary, was the Development Director for Meals on Wheels East Texas in Tyler, Texas since February. Taylor also received a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Methodist University in 2009 and served as pastor at multiple churches in Texas from 2007-22. He also served as Student Pastor at multiple churches in Plano, Texas from 2004-07.

"I graduated from Centenary in 2004, and I am very excited to be returning home," said Taylor.

"Over the next few weeks, I'll be reaching out to coaches, athletes and alumni to learn about the exciting things happening in Athletics.  I'm also hopeful to re-launch the C Club that will help support all the sports and athletes as they continue to represent Centenary!"

"The timing of Collin Taylor joining Centenary Athletics couldn't be better," said Orr. Centenary Athletics is in a transformational phase, with the addition of new sports programs (football, men's and women's tennis, and STUNT). Stealing a quote from our Head Football Coach, Byron Dawson, "Every dream needs a team!"

"The addition of Collin Taylor as the Development Officer for Athletics allows Centenary Athletics to focus directly to building a much-needed team, which includes the alumni, community and donors. Together, this Team can truly transform Centenary Athletics while giving our Alumni, Community and donors something worthy of their support. Collin's professional experience and knowledge of Centenary College is a potential game-changer and we're excited that he has hit the ground running!
