Little Rock, Ark. – The Centenary football suffered defeat for the first time this season as the Gents fell 56-23 to the Arkansas Baptist College Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon at Scott Field.

The Gents (7-1) finished a grueling stretch in which they played three games in a span of 18 days and had just four days in between Saturday's contest with the Buffaloes (2-8) and their previous game, a 28-0 shutout over the Texas Lutheran University JV squad on Monday evening in Fort Worth, Texas.

Despite allowing a season-high 56 points in Saturday's loss, Centenary has outscored the opposition this season, 348-103, and recorded three shutouts.

"Hats off to coach Wilson and his team for competing at a high level on Saturday," said Centenary head coach Byron Dawson.

"I was so proud of how the young Gents attacked the challenge of playing two road games in one week. As we do each week, we will watch the film, correct the mistakes, and focus on Lyon College for our season finale. We are so grateful for our loyal fans who showed up in great numbers on Monday in Ft. Worth and Saturday in Little Rock."

The Gents finish the season next Saturday on the road against Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. at 2 p.m.
