Gents 10th After Round One Of Crusader Invitational

Thackerville, Okla.  The Centenary men's golf team is in 10th place after the first round of the University of Dallas Crusader Invitational after the Gents shot a 32-over par 320 on Monday at the WinStar Golf Course.

The Gents, playing their final tournament of the fall season, are just eight shots behind UT Dallas for eighth place. East Texas Baptist is the leader after round one as the Tigers shot a 3-over par 291 on Monday. Mary Hardin-Baylor and University of Dallas are tied for second place after each shot a 9-over par 297.

Patrick Smetek of St. Thomas is the individual leader after firing a 3-under par 69. Dallas' Trey Schneider is in second place at 2-under par 70 and six other players are at even par or under. Sophomore Ricky Blair (Bossier City, La.) shot the Gents' lowest round on Monday as he turned in a 6-over par 78.

Senior Harrison John (Lafayette, La.) and sophomore Drew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) each shot an 8-over par 80 and are tied for 42nd place. Junior Devan Martin (Watson, La.) shot a 10-over 82 and is tied for 56th place and freshman Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.) shot a 25-over par 97 and is 85th entering the final round.
