Women's Golf Opens Season at Lady Crusader Fall Invitational in Texas

Glen Rose, Texas – The Centenary women's golf team opened its 2019-20 season Monday at the Lady Crusader Fall Invitational at the Squaw Valley Golf Course hosted by the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor University.

Three Ladies are participating as individuals on Monday and Tuesday in the first action of the season for the Maroon and White. The two-day, 36-hole event is being played on a par-72, 5,846-yard layout on the Comanche Links course at Squaw Valley Golf Course

Senior Erin Rostro (Kyle, Texas) was the top finisher for the Ladies on Monday as she fired a 9-over 81 to tie for 17th place. Sophomore Abigial Hayes (Plano, Texas) is tied for 50th place after shooting a 19-over 91. Senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.) is in 56th place (94).

Mary Hardin-Baylor's Victoria Gleghorn sits atop the individual leaderboard after Monday's round after she posted a 2-over par 74. Southwestern University leads the ten-team field after the day's play after the Pirates shot a 19-over par 307. Hardin-Simmons is second at 33-over 321.

The Ladies' trio will tee off Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Centenary is next in action in the Trinity Alamo City Classic Oct. 14-15 in San Antonio, Texas. #CTheOpportunity
