Women's Golf Finishes Eighth At Alamo City Classic

San Antonio, Texas – The Centenary women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Alamo City Classic, hosted by Trinity University, on Tuesday at the Quarry Golf Club.

Host Trinity claimed the team tournament title by shooting rounds of 315-327 for a 642 total to finish 37 shots ahead of second-place Schreiner, who shot a 679. Trinity's Raquel Hill finished as the top individual after shooting a 15-over par 157 by one stroke over Houston-Victoria's Mia Lerma.

All four members of the Ladies' roster participated in the event. Erin Rostro (Kyle, Texas) was Centenary's top finisher as she tied for 24th place after shooting rounds of 94-95 – 189. The Maroon and White shot 393-441 – 834. Senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.) shot rounds of 91-99 – 190 and finished 27th.

Freshman Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) finished 28th after shooting 88-104 – 192.Junior Kristyn Peacock (Katy, Texas) finished 38th at 120-143 – 263.  

The Ladies completed play in the Lady Crusader Fall Invitational earlier this month. The tournament was the first of its 2019-20 season as three Ladies participated as individuals. Rostro was the top finisher for the Ladies as she tied for 33rd place after shooting a 168 (81-87). The Alamo City Classic was just Centenary's second event this fall and the final event as well. #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity.
