Women's Golf Opens Spring Season At BSN Sports Dataw Island Invitational

Dataw Island, SC – The Centenary women's golf team starts play in the BSN Sports Dataw Island Invitational on Monday at the par-72, 5,835 yard Dataw Island Club- Morgan River Course.

The tournament, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, features 18 holes on Monday and a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

The field includes the Ladies, host Ohio Wesleyan University, Milikin University, Washington and Jefferson, Shenandoah, and Mount St. Joseph College.

The lineup for the Ladies in the event will be senior Erin Rostro (Kyle, Texas), sophomore Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas), senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.), and senior Kristyn Peacock (Katy, Texas).

"I am looking forward to finally teeing it up with the ladies," head coach Emlyn Aubrey said. "This is kind of a later start than usual but we bunched up the schedule in hopes they can keep up the momentum all the way into conference with minimal down time."

The Ladies last action came in the fall portion of their schedule in October in the Alamo City Classic, hosted by Trinity University, as the Maroon and White placed eighth overall. Rostro was Centenary's top finisher as she tied for 24th place after shooting rounds of 94-95 – 189.
