Women's Golf Eighth After First Day At Alamo City Classic

San Antonio, Texas – The Centenary women's golf team completed play on day one of the Alamo City Classic, hosted by Trinity University, on Monday at the Quarry Golf Club.

All four members of the Ladies' roster participated on Monday. Freshman Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) led the way for the Ladies as she shot a 17-over par 88 to tie for 16th place. Senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.) is tied for 23rd after shooting a 21-over 91 and Erin Rostro (Kyle, Texas) is in a tie for 27th place after posting a 23-over 94. Junior Kristyn Peacock (Katy, Texas) is in 39th place after shooting a 49-over par 120. Centenary is in eighth place overall heading into Tuesday's final day. 

The Centenary women's golf team completed play in the Lady Crusader Fall Invitational earlier this month. The tournament was the first of its 2019-20 season as three Ladies participated as individuals. Rostro was the top finisher for the Ladies as she tied for 33rd place after shooting a 168 (81-87). The Alamo City Classic is just Centenary's second event this fall and the final event as well. 

Host Trinity is the overall team leader at 31-over par 315. Schreiner is in second place, 17 strokes behind the Tigers. Texas Lutheran's Summer Swift shot a 3-over par 74 to lead all individuals after Monday's play. Trinity's Erin Farron is one shot back at 4-over 75 and teammate Raquel Hill shot a 6-over 77 good for third place.
