Irving, Texas - The Centenary lacrosse team will close its 2021 season on Saturday as the Gents face the Dallas Crusaders in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match set for 1 p.m. at the U-Dallas Lacrosse Facility.

The Gents (1-9, 2-4 SCAC) will be playing for the first time since falling, 27-3, to the Southwestern University Pirates in a road match in SCAC play on April 2 in Georgetown, Texas. Dallas (0-3, 0-1 SCAC) lost at home to the Pirates by a score of 30-2 on April 11 in its most recent action.
Centenary will look to sweep the Crusaders this season having previously beaten them at home, 7-4, on March 7. That win, on the Gents' Senior Day, marked the first time that Centenary had won a match since reestablishing as a varsity program.
In the loss at Southwestern, the Maroon and White received a pair of goals from sophomore A John Mark Waniewski (Bossier City, La.) and a goal from freshman M/A Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.). Centenary goalkeeper Thomas Siskron (Shreveport) played all 60 minutes and collected 2 saves and now has 160 saves this season and an impressive 281 career saves. Siskron added five ground balls.
The Gents tallied 15 ground balls and had four caused turnovers. Waniewski had four ground balls and sophomore D Ethan Little (Tyler, Texas) added a pair. Sophomore M Dario Garcia (Dallas, Texas) had an assist and took three shots, one on goal. Waniewski is now second on the team this season with seven goals.
Sophomore Mark Temple (Houston, Texas) leads the team with nine goals and is second on the team with five assists. His 14 points also lead the team. Sophomore Kyle Comi (Allen, Texas) has tallied a team-best eight assists and has scored three goals. He has 11 points, tied for second on the team with Cook.
