Gents Lacrosse Sweeps SCAC Weekly Honors

Lawrenceville, Ga. - The Centenary lacrosse program swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's weekly honors on Tuesday as freshman Jordan Cook was named the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week while his teammate, senior Thomas Siskron was named the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, both for games played from Monday, April 19 through Sunday, April 25.

The rookie midfielder Cook (Bryant, Ark.) and veteran goalkeeper Siskron (Shreveport) were integral in the Gents' dominating 18-8 victory over Dallas on the road Saturday in their regular-season finale. Each player earned the honor for the first time in their careers and it marks the third time this season that a Gent has earned the award after sophomore defender Ethan Little (Tyler, Texas) was named the Defensive Player of the Week last month.

Cook had a stellar day for the Gents on Saturday. He scored a season and career-high five goals and added an assist for six total points. He had 18 shots, seven coming on goal, and six ground balls with two caused turnovers. Saturday marked the third time this season that Cook has scored at least two goals in a game. The rookie leads the team with 14 goals this season and has three assists. Siskron had 16 saves while allowing eight goals in the Gents' 18-8 victory over Dallas on Friday. He also had four ground balls. He leads the SCAC in saves this season with 176.

Centenary (2-9) will face Southwestern on Friday, April 30 in the 2021 SCAC Men's Lacrosse Championship in Colorado Springs, Colo. The match is set for 5 p.m. mountain time (6 p.m. central) at Stewart Field.
